I have a 2006 street bob V&\\;H big radius with baffles and S.E. stage 1 high flow air filter. \\;\\\\\\;
Do I need to have bike remapped or fuel pack or race tuner or nothing? I have asked this of several dealers and cannot seem to get the same answer. The bike is running good but I am concerned about it being too lean. Even on the Harley web site it states that the computer needs recalibrated after the S.E. stage 1 air filter \\;\\\\\\;is installed. I am not planning anything else proformance wise, I just want it to be right the way it is. Thanks for the help.
It's not that they couldn't tell me what they thought I should \\;do, I was just getting different stories from each. \\;I was just feeling like some \\;are trying to get me to spend more than I have to on a race tuner. Whats a IED? sorry.
Go to the tech forums for ignition/tuner and start reading. You definitelyneed at least the HD dealer Stage 1 download to be programmed into your ecm and don't wait. There is also a sticky thread on 5 questions to ask your dyno tuner if you elect to go that way. I have an 06 with a stage 1 and bought the SERT and bought a dyno map from Latus HD for $50. My bike runs a bit rich and very cool. Plus I have more HP &\\; Torque then stock.
yeah ...my dealer installed the power comander when they installed the V&\\;H big radius blacklines on my street bob. I would find a award winning performance dealer from now on if I was you.good luck
 \\;
yes is the answer or you will burn up your bike... "You can also add IED's to your list" this alone may solve your problem... but as always i recomend the SERT... i have the same set up as you... after Eric helped me to tune in my bike WOW it is like a whole new ride! get it tuned! if not you will be paying WAY over the cost of a tune in repairs
Thanks a lot for the help I got the stage 1 download today. Rode about 200 miles runs great \\; \\;I might look into some of the other options later but I am satisfied for now if the plugs look ok \\; Thanks again
 \\;
remap required - and you probably shouldn't take it to any of the dealers that couldn't answer this simple question.
 \\;
Right on! I asked 3 or four dealers who wanted to sell me a SERT before I found one ( Columbia Harley_Davidson) who set me right.
 \\;
 \\;Stage 1 download at least, and NOT just IED's on these Dynas with HIflo A/C
