Default Engine HP??

I want to get more power out of my stock 96. I don't want to spend $5000.00. I am not looking for a racer. I would like to get it up closer to 100 HP.
Would the big bore kit and cams do it without head work and&nbsp\\;the stock&nbsp\\;Throttle body. I am currently running a stage 1 with a fuelpak and a 2:1 Big Radius and may end up having to go with&nbsp\\;SERT or a PC III&nbsp\\;if I do the mods but I wanted to know my options. Let me know what you guys have done and approx how much was spent and the numbers if you have them.

I doubt you will get to 100hp without doing headwork
&nbsp\\;
big bore and cams would put you up around mid to high 80's, maybe low 90

I had the dealer do a big bore and cams during winter special.&nbsp\\; Dynoed at 94HP, 101 Torque with PC III fuel management.&nbsp\\; Cost was $1300 and included Dyno after break-in of about 600 miles.

get some really nice high lift cams that are gear driven...keep your 96 and put heads on it...i'm rollin 100hp and 100 tq with my 95...highly doable with a 96...you could keep your stock pistons but you should replace them with higher compression ones...going 103 isn't that much more money 300 for pistons and then get your stuff bored...heads and cams make huge wonders though!
