Default MINI APES
Riding a 2002 Super Glide, and Im thinking mini apes. Can I use the original cables?
Im toying with the idea of Minis or keeping the stock type bar, but powder coating them.
Only reason= cost of the minis, cables labor, ect.

I put mini apes on 2003 FXD last weekend. Brake line and Clutch cable need to be replaced. I got the brake line and clutch cable made for the wide glide and will put them on this weekend, but they seem to be the right length when I hold them up to the bike.

go with them the price of cables are not that bad and you will be glad you did i love them on my bike .

I ran the mini-apes that come on the wide-glide on my 96 FXD for 10 years. Didn't change the cables (thats why I selected the wide glide bars). They were great for cruisin and not to high as to keep control in the twisties.

The throttle and idle cables are OK? Just the clutch and brake need replacing? I'm have a set of bars from an 06 Street Bob that I want to put on my 01 FXD. If that so it sure make the job a lot easier.

I like the chubbys a lot as well. I called the dealer. The bars are pretty cheap. But they want 3hr wire outside 6hrs to run the cables inside. 550 bucks
Damn.

Any ideas?

The throttle and idle cables were the right length, but since I went with stainless brake line and clutch cable I replaced the throttle & idle cables too.
