Default forward install ?'s

Ok for starters I have an ’08 Street bob and a HD forward kit.
&nbsp\\;
I did a search and found some really good threads on the installation but I had a few ?’s .
I wanted to install them like some have done without removing the primary. One thread I read had photo that are no longer linked.
&nbsp\\;
Does anyone have any pics of this installation process? Like what bolt to wedge the shifter under and where to cut? Also any advice would be greatly appreciated.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks,
&nbsp\\;Tony

Don- I don't have any pics on how I did it, but I will explain as best as possible.&nbsp\\; You are correct, you don't have to remove the primary.&nbsp\\; Remove your shift lever and remove the shift linkage.&nbsp\\; Once that is done you should be able to slide the shaft that goes through the primary back and forth.&nbsp\\; Push it in as far as you can.&nbsp\\; Now, your option, but I used a sawzaw (as carefully as possible) and cut the shaft between the inner primary and the rest of the bike.&nbsp\\; There isn't much room, but with a long enough blade (8") you can do it.&nbsp\\; After that you slide the piece out the front and the other piece will fall out the back.&nbsp\\; Also, you don't have to remove the shifter from the tranny.&nbsp\\; Just use the one thats already there.&nbsp\\; I promise, it will work fine.&nbsp\\; And when you go to get a new shift linkage (not the chesey one from the kit) be sure to get the longer one.&nbsp\\; The shorter one is for pre '06 bikes.&nbsp\\; If you have any more questions let me know.

I agree with rds1778.&nbsp\\; Pretty easy, but does take time to get it done.

I removed the primary.&nbsp\\; It was actually pretty easy once I had all the correct tools, seals, service manual, and fluid.&nbsp\\; For some reason I was leary of taking a saw to my bike.

The outer primary is pretty straightforward, but the inner is the b**ch.&nbsp\\; That is a lot of work for somenone who isn't a mechanic and over confident with their ability.&nbsp\\; I'm a diesel mechanic in the Navy, and I didn't want to f**k with the inner.&nbsp\\; Anyway, do what you will.

I don't have the pics any more, but I slide the old shifter arm in all the way.&nbsp\\; Then forced it behind the bolt coming out of the crank case.&nbsp\\; There's only one bolt that it will fit behind.&nbsp\\; I rode like this for two years without any problem.
