Default Custom Dyna rear (hugger) fenders

I love the bobbed look from front to rear, dyna owners however have it tough compared to softail folks and rigid bike owners. I've been researching how to have a clean low profile and short rear fender for my soon to arrive street bob. Here are some pics that I've found. If anybody knows of a kit or a parts supplier to do this that would be cool. Westcoast Chprs said they were 4 months behind on fenders.

Now that I'm getting the hang of posting bike pictures here are some more hugger rear fenders on dynas. The above flamed one is a custom bike for sale in Apple Valley, CA for $17,500. I just called the guy to ask him how he did his fender. It's a frameworks dyna style frame and the rear fender is a Jesse James. Someone else show me some like this, aa-ight!

That's sort of the look I'm going for too. I think that I'm going to go with a Jesse James fender as well, wrapping it as close as I can to the 180. I've got to do some measuring to see what I can do because I don't really feel like hacking off the struts on a brand new bike but I may have to.

From what I can tell the way a dyna rear suspension is set up, as opposed to a softail, is for the dyna swingarm to be able to move the rear wheel up and down inside the rear fender. Obvious. All dyna stock fenders are pretty high up to allow for this motion, I'm sure when going to a low profile fender one would have to install shorter struts to allow for less movement. Somewhere in the forum is a person who knows what I'm trying to do so let's hear it.

If you're looking for a different style of shorter fender, why not try chopping a stock Dyna fender? They're all over E-bay for next to nothing and I don't imagine the Jesse James fender is cheap. Cutting up someone else's discard fender to see how it looks should be a less expensive way to go, at least initially until you find a look that you really like.

That's not a bad idea. The only thing about the Dyna fender I'm not too hot on is the ridges down each side. I could buy one off of ebay though and play with it until I figure out how short I can go and how low I can mount a new fender. Thanks for the input.

Would'nt a 2005 Deuce fender fit? It is shorter then the one on the Street Bobs and is for the same size back tire.

It may but I'm not really a fan of the Duece fender...just too flat across the bottom. I was thinking one of these Jesse James fenders would look good. They both are about $235.
