Well I finally found the GPS mount I like, I had to build it myself. I bought a top clamp from Wild One and drilled and tapped it for the Garmin Mount. I didn't want it up high near the grips with Apes and the other mounts I saw just didn't work for me. Was easy enough to make, the Wild One top clamp was the only smooth top wide enough to fit the GPS bracket.
I don't have a drill press here so it was a bit of a challenge to drill and tap the clamp. The bolt pattern barely clears the handlebar groove so you have to get it exactly right.
Anyways here is what it looks like on the bike.
That looks like a really nice set up you have there.
Are you tapping the battery for power? If so, where did you get the adapter for your unit? \\; I am considering a set up similar to yours, now that I see it done so nicely. \\; I was originally considering the handle bar mount but yours looks more user friendly. \\;

Thanks for sharing, looks great.
Cheers,

Yes, I did tap the battery, I made a little distribution unit under the seat that I could plug into for power. The GPS mount is from Garmin. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1228
Part Number: 010-10610-00
It comes with everything except a way to mount on your bike.
Fished the wire through the wiring harness under the tank and ran all the excess \\;wire under the seat.
It would be easier to make again now that I know how everything lays out.
Maybe I will buy a small drill press, and make another one or two.
I am thinking of a way to modify to allow a video camera mount as well.
If you want it to look like a "universal" mount you are right, but then I didn't want it to look like everyone elses. The pride of making it yourself is hard to beat.
They make one that's weather proof box for your GPS. But it's hunred pages and six different books of parts. Sorry you will have take a look for yourself. Easy with model number and make.
For $30 to $40 and come in the mail same week that your still cutting up your bike. And it come off with a turn of a ****. They ever make locks for them. Make your own I did it the hard way first couple times. Spent more money and now I am hooked. And it's not so much as universal mount but it's made for your product.
This poor guy has e-mail twice over his great handmade GPS holder. I let other people see what have found but RSA05FXDWGI \\;has a problem with me telling and show what is out there for little cost. I know I had to do a lot of looking to find what I \\;wanted. Sorry about hurting your feelings. Hope you can move on about your GPS mount.
