Question on TFI
Yessir, I saw the video install. Piece of cake, it looks like.
Also TCSTD, if I'm not mistaken, I think I have to buy the TFI specifically made for the 06 Dynas. Those, for some reason, are a little more expensive. $199 is the cheapest I've seen (Eastern Performance on eBay).

TC, Just an FYI on the closed loop TFI unit. Tom can't do the 06 Dyna TFI with the integrated harness for $159. He's at $225 plus shipping. He was nice enough to call me and tell me that this new model was more money. I wound up buying the $199 unit from E-bay which was the cheapest price I could find.
Whiffleboy, you do not need a tach to do this. Guesstimate 2000 RPM's or drive the bike at parking lot speeds and tune that lean surge and hesistation right out of the system for good. I put the TFI on the tank-seat junction to do this and dial in just enough fuel but no more. You don't need much on the green setting with a stage one flash so 1, 1.5 or 2 tops will do it plenty good. Same with the yellow which is basically on throttle enrichment. Matching the yellow setting to the green setting is a very good starting point. Increasing yellow too far and you'll smell the raw fuel during slight acceleration and might get a back fire or two. Keep in mind that if Green, Yellow, and Red are set to "0" or "zero", then you are esentially running on the factory Stage one program. Go slow, increment up slowly and stay conservative. Simple.
I've seen it time and time again on every cycle and muscle car forum on the net. People tend to jet their bikes and cars way too rich and tout how great their bikes or cars run. It makes no difference if we are talking Holly, Edelbrock, Carter, Amal, Bing, Mikuni, Kehihn CVK's etc. Best to go conversative and have a clean burn with no carbon fouling while making good efficient power. Harley did 99 percent of the work for us, the TFI or Sert can take it the rest of the way.
Here's an article I wrote a while back for Royal Enfield bikes but the principals are no different and work just as easilyfor a 4 barrel, Techlusion TFI, or Mikuni.

Thanks gents. I appreciate the input.
At $199 including the harness, it seems like such a bargain. My inclination to buy one was based on the ease of use, i.e. using the recommended settings without having to adjust anything. I'm willing to try tweaking it, but, I don't want to do any damage to the bike through ignorance. Having those base numbers you presented should help. I just didn't want to go in blind with recommended settings that were way off the mark from the get-go with me trying to haphazardly get them right.
I may seriously pick one up now. I hear their support is outstanding.
One caveat, though, is that I have no Tach...it's a Street Bob.

Thanks for the update guys, I never checked on the pricing for the 06 units from Tom and yes that is a different unit for the 06 bikes. I'll post that in the DIY for the price increase on the new model for 06 bikes with the 02 sensors.
Sorry for the mixup here..
Thanks again.
I know a guy who is a vendor of the TFI. Told him the price Eastern was selling them phor, and he was shocked! He couldn't even come close.
They do have them the cheapest.
They do have them the cheapest.
Apparently, the manufacturer told them to raise the base price when advertising. However, with the "best offer" option on eBay, Eastern said they'd take $199 if offered.
