There have been guys here who have done 4" risers, others who have done 10.5" mini-apes with out changing cables. \\; They said they did have to re-shape the brake line. \\; Most mentioned they found the cables to be stretched about as far as they could go with going to longer cables.

i just put mini apes on mine and used a tubing bender to straighten the brake line, rerouted the throttle cables outside the trees and found a used Wide Glide clutch cable. the brake line mounts wont match up so i moved it from the top tree to the bottom and made another out of leather for the handle bar. i like the way it looks on my bike but most would probably just get a line made for mini apes.
