I've noticed that with my FatBob, the biggest difference between this bike and other non-HD's that I have owned is the back pressure when down shifting. For instance if I downshift even a few hundred RPM's over normal shifting parameters.....the back pressure I get is so harsh that the front end shudders violently. Not a lot of movement, just like one big shiver. This is normal?
 \\;
On other bikes I have owned you could downshift agressively with no shiver like this.
 \\;
Please advise if you have any feedback at all. Thx.
Bump.
 \\;
Is this just too negative of a question, perhaps?
 \\;
Believe it or not I am not complaining. Nothing wrong with normal braking instead of downshifting.
I have not noticed anything like that on mine, but I would not \\;put me in the aggessive type rider, unless you count packing! I do not downshift out of the parameters, like you said I brake. Sorry, not much help.
Thats not back pressure, thats engine compression your talking about. For a bike, those are two big jugs, compressing a lot of air.
 \\;
Cheers... Ben.
For instance........if a bike loses back pressure on decel.....the pipes tend to pop and crackle.....right? The feeling that I am trying convey is that this back pressure is so high and harsh on decel \\;that it shudders the bike, especially the front end....quite a bit. Nothing that feels dangerous or mechanically unsound....just different from what I have experienced before.
If you richen up the mixture with a SERT or IEDs you will notice less engine braking on decel. \\;\\\\\\; Also, the front mount can bottom out on decel causing more vibes to reach the rider.
