Talking 55mpg

I went for a 250 mile ride yesterday, ambient temperatures of 110 deg, I averaged 55 Mpg running most of the time at 75-90 MPH, I wanted to reach my 1000 miles so I can get my first service done before next week end as we have a local HOG ride that I want to go on,

The only way I can get that kind of mileage is to push it every where and maybe ride it down hill. average about 38 to 40 on a good by depending on how my wrist works the throttle.

Is that imperial or US gallons.

1 imperial gallon = 1.2 U.S. gallons

I'm getting about 47 miles to an imperial gallon from my Fat Bob. That works out at about 40 miles per US Gallon.

I got 52mpg last weekend riding around. Most of the time I was at about 60mph though.
The only thing I know is American gallons so no worries about that inferior imperial gallons crap

I get 55mpg at 55 to 60 MPH but if I'm opening it up 40 to 45 mpg so I average 45 mpg :-) on my 96 Wide Glide

I usually get about 40,the temp here has been cool all summer. I'll get maybe 45 mpg if I keep it to 55 or 60 mph. How did you geyt better mileage may we ask, cause since your bike is stock, assuming you did not use additives, you should be getting the same as the rest of us....unles you miscalculated.

I would love to get that kind of mileage on a trip, I am in the 35-40 range.
On a recent trip out to Washington state I rented a new Softail Deluxe, the fuel guage was way off, I thought I was limping in to the next town since it kept telling me I only had a few miles left, when I filled up it only took 3.8 gallons after 185 miles. Would have been nice if they were more accurate so I did not to have to sweat that last 30 miles out in the middle of nowhere.
