That's great mileage, I get 40-45 mpg depending on how much highway (vs city) riding I get per tank. Sadly the majority of my riding this summer has been to work and back.
04 DWG with Cycle Shack exhaust, AN Big Sucker and Sportster needle.
I averaged 52.6 mpg on a 350 mile trip recently, mostly on twisties cruising 40 to 60mph. I don't think you can get a real accurate figure using only one fill-up, especially on a 4-5 gal tank.
The milage was the average taken over 3 fill ups, the worst i got was over twisty section where it showed i got 51.7 but that was over a short didtance, the ballance was all highway riding and just about dead flat and straight runs with very little traffic, the one section I did 80 miles and didnt see another vehicle in either direction,
I got 51mpg today. Riding back roads with a couple other guys and averaged around 65-70mph. One of the guys had an 07 Low Rider with Rinehart pipes, SE a/c and a V&H Fuel Pak and he said he got 47mpg.
No idea why you guys get worse gas mileage. I have a map from Fuel Moto installed in my PCIII. I even added gas to the 0% throttle position to reduce popping. I also kick it into 6th gear around 60 or 65mph on the highway until I slow down or want to pass someone quickly, then I go down to 5th.
