Default Dumb Move

When I changed the oil in my '03 Low Rider I removed the "pipe plug" instead of the drain plug - it was at the end of a LONG day. Anyway - is this a problem?? Does this plug seat or bottom out into the case when tightening? Can it be tightened too far - or not far enough? I ran the bike after I finished everything and there were no leaks, and the oil pressure light went out after a few seconds. Is it good to ride or did I DO A MAJOR SCREW-UP??

it's not a problem... just be careful reinstalling it.. use teflon, liquid if you have it. It's very easy to crack the casting while inserting a pipe plug in cast aluminum. You're not really looking to 'tighten' is so much, just install it enough that it won't fall out, and the liquid teflon I like to use will thicken up and hold it from falling out.

not a problem at all man... teflon (liquid) is key as above said... if oyu go too tight it will strip the case... just go tight and let that teflon harden up.. right as rain... i have done it myself man, no big deal... you only know where it goes if you pull it off the bike every once in a while least thats what i say when i pull apart something i did not need to
