Got my 1st Big Twin last night! I've had more bikes over the last 30 years than I can remember. Started out on KZs, then faster sportbikes, 2 Busas, FZ1, then a Warriror(weird bike). Had enough rice and got a 1200 Custom and traded that on a V-Rod which was paired up with another Sporty later. Been wanting a Big Twin for years and it finally happened. I found a gorgeous, 900 mile, 07, Wide Glide locally offered by a very motivated seller.
This forum has been a tremendous help, been reading the Dyna and engine mod sections for several years and have gained a wealth of knowledge from the many great guys here who share their expertise and personal experiences.
The Wide Glide is fantastic even in stock config. with only a set of Cycle Shack slipons and a few Moco chrome tidbits. This bike is a Coupe de Ville compared to what I am used to and has decent stock power especially on the lower end.
Ordered grips, pegs, switch housings, and the PCIII and A/C from Fuel Moto to complete the stage 1. I'm considering a mild 103 with some light headwork and cams over the winter. I've several Sportster builds and couple metrics but have never dug into a late model Big Twin.
