Default ignition wire set change

just wonder if you have to do anything special when changing spark plug wires on a 96" twin cam. just asking cause i know you have to have some kind of fuel management system when you change the air filter.also went to a local college football game and got stuck in heavy traffic ,noticed that it started to idle kinda rough and also when you first put in under a load. but once i got out of the traffic, into fresh air it seemed to smooth out.is this normal.

Putting on anything other than stock spark plug wires on a stock 96" twin cam engine is a waste of money. No performance improvement will be achieved. Your bike is an air cooled engine. When it's sitting still in traffic, no air is flowing through the cylinder cooling fins. Yes it is normal.

Yeah if your bike is stock i would go with regular plugs and wires. But if you have motor work done i would go all out and get the best plugs and wires available. I mean you spend all your money on the motor why would you go cheap on the small things? There not expensive alot of guys change them just for the color. And no there nothing special you have to do easy on easy off.

Rumor has it though with the right wires you can gain a pony or 2... But just rumor as I have not done it.

I've thought about ordering a set of the SE plug wires. Just cause they look good though. Won't make any difference in performance.

I just put on the new SE 10mm plug wires. There's no performance improvement to my knowledge, but I like the look of the "phat" plug wires.

I changed mine just for the color, got the Screamin Eagle red wires, they are identical to the original wires (same resistance). About ten bucks from Zanotti's.
