Thumbs up Led Bulbs

Yes, I changed the rear turn signal bulbs out for red led bulbs. Life span of 10,000 hours. I picked the red bulbs so I could keep the smoked lenses and I also have the run/stop/brake module. It all works great.

I put the Küryakyn run/stop/brake module, front and rear turn signal LED conversions last week. Part numbers 4859, 4822, and 4836. Very easy to install, and the run/stop/brake module has a feature that makes the brake lights flash to get more attention.

You need to install the load equalizers for the LED's. With the security system you might need an extra equalizer to avoid the key signal in your dash to falsely turn on.

I like how it looks and the flashing feature for the break lights, but there's one thing. The load equalizers heat when you are using the flashers, so they recommend not to use the flashers for extended periods of time, and NEVER use the 4-way flashers because the loads can overheat and burn. So, keep that in mind.

The lenses heating will not be an issue. LEDs run waaaay cooler than standard halogen bulbs, because they use a lot less wattage for the same or more light per size. You can touch an LED no problem while it's lit. Even with the whole cluster of LEDs, they will be cooler than one standard halogen...what is the bulb 35 watts?

Check out the Badlands III equalizer. It's the one I went with and they claim flashers aren't an issue. No problems so far...

the led is not as hot but the electronic board that the leds are mounted to get extremely hot and thats what you need to keep in mind because it can burn out the motherboard for the leds. that would lead to the leds not working any more

I running a Kuryakyn smoked led tail light with red led bulbs in the turn signals, smoked lenses and the run/stop/brake module. It really looks nice and they all match plus they are really bright at night. I didn't do the front bulbs since I don't have a load equalizer but its not a problem on my bike with just the rears done.

I'm running the Kuryakyn Panacea LED Taillight and Rear Signals. I'm running this in conjunction with the Kuryakyn LED Front Signals.

The LED's don't get hot, but as stated the load equalizers that come with them do. Kuryakyn tells you to attach the equalizers to the something metal to serve as a heat sink. I didn't the first time, and fried the controller. Since fixing the install, I haven't had a problem.

Oh yeah, Kuryakyn also suggests that you not use the hazards when running LEDs. This is how I fried my first control board, again with a proper install and no hazard usage, everything works great.

I installed the HD led/running/brake lights and have been very pleased; visibility is much better.
