I am considering buying a V&H full system but can't decide between the big shots, short shots or the big radius. Can I get some opinions from those who have experience of these.
I have the short shots on mine, and I am happy.
But really, when it comes to pipes you'll get many different opinions. It's almost like which color is the best.
Some will no doubt give better performance. Most 2 into 1 pipes are better for pure performance than the 2 into 2 pipes.
But when it comes to "looks" or "sound", it's just way too subjective.
I've had the Big Radius on my bike from day1. If I had it to do over again, I'd go with the short shots for one reason: The lower pipe is routed under the mid-mount foot peg. I've scraped the crap outta my lower heat shield...It rusts if I don't keep it clean and dry which is almost impossible with the weather here in Seattle.
Other than the lower pipe location, I love the looks and sound of the Big Radius. This is the third set of V&H pipes I've owned on bikes and I've loved them all.
The BR were supposed to be a performance upgrade...just as long as you don't care about lean angle.
I've always liked the big shot staggered, slash cuts. They have a simple and classic style, and the power chamber gives a power boost similar to a 2 into 1.
