is there a how-to thread somewhere that Im missing? Like how to change oils and fluids or how-to's on modding your bike like removing baffles or just some fine tweaking?

 

Hi - use the SEARCH facility. Put in search keywords like: oil change or baffles or change fluids etc. There are literally hundreds of existing threads on what you are looking for. If your search keywords aren't exactly right, modify them.

 

Scroll down the Harley Davidson Forums page and click on HD Technical Forum (I think that's the one) and there are many other helpful forums there also.

On top of that, you really should buy the Service Manual if you plan to do your own service. You won't believe the projects you can tackle after knowing the information that is in there.

 

You can save some money buy purchasing the service manual from Lake Shore HD via ebay. They sell it for $48, vs $60 at your local dealer. I bought mine there recently and they shipped it fast. Shipped monday morning and I had it wed. I tried waiting for someone to have one used they were parting with cheap but I was always a day late and a dollar short.
