I remember when you first ditched the apes... I though you were crazy! But my mid controls went back on 30 minutes ago and my drag bar is in the mail, so I guess I "get it now". Your bike is very nice looking, but I guess you got tired of looking at it, and now you wanna ride the dogsh!t outta it! I'm gonna miss looking at my apes though! Just wont miss cornering with them.

Have had Allan Sputhe's engine mounts on my FXDXT for two years now; big difference...no more wallow in sweepers. Also have one of his aluminum swingarms, 418's on back and the adjustable front end set up right, with Bridgestone radials at both ends. As good as a Dyna can handle, I guess...
You gotta remember the rubber mount HD's combine the engine, trans, swingarm and rear wheel into one unit floating inside the frame on the rubber mounts; like the Norton isolastic, you all remember the Nortons; right???

Default chicken strips

I have completed 2 advanced rider courses on my Streetbob courtesy of the Royal Australian Navy, both time the instructors referred to those so-called "chicken strips" as idiot strips, and they were sports bike riders with over 60 years experience between them.

For me I bought a Harley to "cruise", sure I like to push the limits a little on a nice road with nice bends but I know my limitations. I dont begrudge anyone who wants to mod their bike to have a better handling bike, but if you want to push the boundaries that far that you put wear on the idiot strips buy an R1 and knock youself out.

Please people dont take offence at my post, it's just my honest opinion.

Muddyape, does this translate any more or less vibration to the rider?

I didnt notice any INCREASE in vibration.....I can honestly say that I thought the bike feels smoother, how I dont know. But it made it a more enjoyable ride.

Anyone know how the True-track compares to the Sputhe Positrac?
it's my understanding that the sputhe is a 2-point system (front & rear) while the true-trac is a 3-point (front, rear, top).

My .02.
I have to say that I agree with ggibson on this......I guess you can modify a bike to make it anything you want, but why not just BUY the bike that best reflects the style of riding you plan on doing. To me, twisties here in Northwest Arkansas (and there are many) are more about getting out and enjoying the scenery and the freedom of a bike ride....not about seeing how many times you can scrape your pegs.
I will say that I enjoy reading about those people who are brave enoough to modify their bikes to their liking.

I'll bet its nice to have a newer Dyna feel like the old FXR's did. Granted, it wont fix the frame flex, but it sure does hold the motor in place they way it should have been.
BTW muddy, dont worry about the chicken strips (like I'm sure you really care). I send out a shower of sparks long before I can lean far enough to wear the outer edge of the tire.
And Joe (JRK5892), you're right. Titanium on the bottom of the pegs is a damn good light show. *Hints to Muddy*

Thanks for all the info Muddy. I've been looking at this myself. Can't make up my mind between the tru-trak, Alloy Art or the sputhe design. Shop I work at part time on days off, we've got an 08 Low Rider that we're about to put on the Alloy Art stabilizer. I had a really bad wobble about 2 weeks ago going around a left turn curve at about 70mph. Friend behind me thought I was going down but I rode it out & gave it more gas....lol First time it happened, my wife was on the back with the same situation. Left turn, same speed just a different road. I thought it was because of something she was doing but it wasn't her.
