Default 2009 Dyna backrest

I'm all new to the Harley world so this is the problem.
Bought a 2009 Dyna super glide custom had it changed to forward controls. Now this is the problem . after looking throw the 2009 accessories book i changed the seat to a sundowner deep bucket seat witch i like so i ordered i back rest for the miss but the sissy bar sideplate
they gave me wont work because the seat passenger width is wider the back rest needs to move back a inch or two to clear.in the book it dose not give sizes. the dealer has not got back to me yet .

Something is not right then. They should both fit just fine.
Lots of people using the Sundowner seat with the Harley sissy bar.

The sundowner seat is a tight fit with sissy bar side plates. Are yours rigid side plates or are they quick release? i have quick release sissy bar and my seat touchs the bars if you have rigid its going to touch and be tight.

I have the sundowner with the quick release sissy bar hardware. It is tight but not as bad as you are saying.

I went with the pillow seat on my fatbob. The pillow seat is tight at 10"s wide in the rear. I believe the sundowner is 12"s in the rear.

The Sundowner is a very comfortable seat, and the ladies love the back seat with a sissy bar!
