Default FXD Superglide

I been going back and forth about possible getting a second bike. One of the bikes I like is the FXD because its just bare bones and ready for me to make it into what I want. I was at the dealer and they gave me a price.

13,200 OTD

One thought...look on ebay as there are many 1-2 year old dynas on there. There was a nice custom low rider for 13k with lots of nice upgrades I think it was a 2006 with really low hours in So Cal. Many stock ones are much less.

The dealer here gets MSRP + $800 for set up and delivery + $1200 sales tax (8.6%) = $14000 OTD.

$13,200 seems a little high in todays market for an FXD. I got mine for $12,250 out the door.

I wish! That may be where you are but there is only three dealerships within 2.5 hours of where I live... all owned by the same folks, so all have the same price. Although, with the riding season over and snow on the ground I guess they might deal a little.

The FXD is a great bike. No doubt you'll be happy with it. I'd check around with other dealers though just to be sure you're getting the best deal. IMO it is more important to have a good relationship with the service dept. than the sales dept. But having said that, if a further away dealer has a better price, tell your closer dealer - they'll often match the price. It worked for me on the bike prior to my current one.

Cash is King, right now. Lotsa great deals to be had if you're patient. Found my '06 Wide on ebay for $12.5K, lotsa goodies, and only 546 miles. The economy is gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets better; a little sad to profit from someone else's financial misfortune, but there will be a ton of bargains to be had in the coming months. If the winter months are crappy weather where you live, why not gather your nickles for a few months and be ready to pounce on a "s'deal" from a distressed buyer? My $0.02-worth.
