if you go to the metzeler usa site - you can confirm what size metzeler recommends for what they call a "stage 1" upgrade. This is the largest size you can fit on the stock wheel and still have belt and fender clearance.
I think 2000 models came stock with a 130 - so it's probably not much wider than that.

my 02 comes with a 150 and the guys at the cycle shop i go to said 160 would be about max for me and that would come with some complications, look at the belt shroud and see how close it is to the tire and that will give you an idea of the issues you will face with a larger tire. I can barely stick a finger tip in between that and the tire.
