Default Kury Fuel Gauge

I tried to do a search and didn't find an answer to this question. I installed the Kury fuel gauge in my SB, but noticed that the low fuel light on the spedo doesn't come on... I cut the yellow/white wire coming from the connector on the back of the spedo and then soldered the gray wire to it (the end that comes out of the connector), left the other end lose, put it all back together, calibrated the gauge so now the red light is blinking [empty] but no light on the spedo. Did I do something wrong or is the spedo fuel light disabled now? I thought that when the fuel was low it would register on the Kury and the spedo

Any input appreciated.

That's the way it's supposed to work.

don't mean to sound dumb, but when you say that is the way it is supposed to work you mean no more low fuel gauge on the spedo? right?

Thanks

Exactly, the fuel light on the speedo becomes obsolete.

Thanks, didn't want to take the dash apart again to see if I screwed the wiring. Guess I got it right. Looks a ton better then the stock one.

Hmmm, I always kinda liked the little fuel gauge reminder on the speedo. Basically slapped me in the face and said "get gas now moron" before you burn the pump up.

Believe me when you see the red led start flashing it gets your attention right away. Much easier to see and IMHO is better than the stock setup.

Well if you felt the stock fuel light slapped you in the face, the kury empty light will be like a kick in the *****

Yeah, it is hard to miss that flashing red light. I had the tank down to just about "E" on the old gauge when I calibrated it... will have to see where that really is (forgot to check how much gas I put in the tank, but I know it can't be much).

It is a LOT easier to read then the old gauge that's for sure.
