Fuel level resistor range?

Default Fuel level resistor range?
I have installed a Dakota digital gauge, on it the fuel warning light is flashing, this due to a grounding fault in the fuel gauge. Now I don't run a fuel gauge which explains the fault, to get the light to stop flashing I want to solder a resistor between the ground and the signal wire to simulate a gauge in place.

Question is what should the resistor be?

Anybody now the resistor range of the fuel sender/float?

Come to think of it, maybe need a resistor between the power and the ground.... to emulate the gauge...

The resistor range is 30ohms from full to abt 250Ohm for m/t...
