anyone running these on there dyna? if so could i get some feedback on them and maybe a pic..im in the market to buy some pipes and i have narrowed it down to either the pythons or v&h bigshots..thanks guys
I have SE II's on my 03 Dyna. Python Staggered Duals still in the box waiting for warm weather. How much louder are the Pythons? Don't want to p*#s off the neighbors or the cops.
Here's a pic of mine. I got them off ebay and then had a ceramic coating applied. I can't compare them to the V&H pipes because this is my first bike. I can tell you that these pipes and a Arlen Ness big sucker kit made a night and day difference in the my bikes performance. It seems like there is more low end punch and less time with the choke out.
I have the same exact Pythons that bandit99 showed in his post except mine are chrome. I love the sound and have had them for 4 years. It is my understanding that Phythons are made by V&H. I have had two (minor)issues with mine. First, checking your tranny fluid levels becomes somewhat difficult as the pipes almost cover the plug. However, I cut off a hex key and can get the plug out--although a little slow. Second, the front heat shield was VERY close to the frame downtube (actually touching it and rubbing the pain off). I eliminated that problem by taking a washer, sticking it with a piece of scotch tape to the heat shield standoff and clamp guide. This caused the shield to stand off the frame enough to clear the frame (barely). BTW, the scotch tape melted off immediately but the washer was held in place by the clamp. I can now stick a folded dollar bill in between the shield and the frame. I didn't notice it until I installed the True-Track and had to take the pipes off for the installation. I may go back and put a little thicker piece of metal in between. I was getting my truck tires rotated the other day and picked of several sizes of alignment shims and will modify one of those to replace the washer. We (the dealer and I) tried every thing to move the pipes back slightly but the tolerances on the Lowrider were very unforgiving. Bottom line: Besides the minor problems at first, they are great pipes. Well made and sound great.
is there a big difference in sound between the shortshot i used to have and the pythons im going to get..i know the shortshots where kinda loud when you got on it but at idle they sounded good..
I have the Pythons on my bike and absolutely love them. Python are made by V&H and sold through Custom Chrome (or so i've been told). I found a pair on Ebay last year and got them for about $400 shipped. Install (including removal of stock exhaust) was really pretty painless. One tip that another forum member gave me and i found it helpful was to install the pipes without the heat shields on. This will allow you a little more leeway when trying to clear the engine. Then when they're mounted you can go back and put the heat shields on. Really pretty simple. I love the sound on mine. Not annoyingly loud (i leave the house at 7am in the summer and no one has complained yet) but definitely not quiet. When you get on it heavy you'll definitely know it.

I know the post is kind of old but I went from Short Shots to Python Stagger Duals on my 80" Evo. I noticed an improvement in throttle response and low end with no loss in the top end. I've got the stock "N" cam so pipes designed for top end seem a waste.
Anyway the sound is much deeper and a lot of the raspyness is gone. Also because of the power chamber or whatever they call their crossover there is almost no decel popping which I had real bad with the Short Shots.
Overall I'm MUCH happier with the Python's. Also the quality is great IMO. I've had them for a season so far and they're holding up real well. The pipes themselves blued pretty quick but you can't see it because it's behind the heat shields.
