Keeping Black Engine Clean????
DOT 5 brake fluid does not harm paint. This is the silicone based DOT 5. The non-silicone based DOT 5.1 is a different story.
Right on the back of the HD Silicone Brake Fluid container it states, "Will not damage painted surfaces".
Silicone does however affect the application of new paint. Paint will not wet a silicone contaminated surface. Ever paint silicone caulk?
Do a search on your favorite search engine for "DOT 5 painted surfaces" and do some research.
I've used this on the black of my EVO's engine and it works well and lasts pretty well, the tough part is trying to find a rag to apply it that doesn't leave lint all over the rough black.
The indy also mentioned it works great on the sidewalls of tires. I have not researched this but something tells me that all brake fluid better be compatible with tires otherwise we would have seen lawsuits about it.

ok engine casings are easy...what about inbetween the fins of the cylinder heads?Soaked rag and knife job ?Like I said earlier at the moment I use warm water and car shampoo..use a stiff bottle type brush for the cylinder heads...with this *pig snot* stuff ??
I would use brake fluid to fill my brake system as it was designed.
+1 on the pig spit, I used some on my bike about a month ago and the dust just does not stick to it and it still looks shiny black. Washed it the other day and the water just beads off the engine, did not even use car wash soap on the engine, freakin' great stuff! Isn't the s100 engine bright the same type of detailer as the pig spit, and using both just redundant?
I was not too thrilled with the s100 total cycle cleaner, seemed to dry out the black and I thought I ruined my damn bike. Only use it on the wheels now.

It would likely be a winnable suit (if I were the suing type). Would be a pretty big oversight or blatant ignorance on the brake fluid manufacturer to develop a product to aid in stopping a vehicle's wheels while eating away at them. Hoses break, leak onto the tires, leak onto the road for other vehicles to track through...
Finally, thanks for the link, I thought you all were just messing with me with this product, it is real.
Pig Snot is a wax. Pig Spit is a spray that makes anything black look great. Pig Spit is very similar to S100 Engine Bright.

My local HD shop carries Pig Spit and I love the stuff. Makes the black engine, tank console, cables etc look like new.
