Cam chain?
I was just doing a search for the cam chain tensioners p/n (??) and came across this article describing a tech tip of polishing the cam chain before reinstallation to make it smoother whence adding life to the tensioners. Sounds logical. What y'all think?

I figure the chains polished themselves riding around the shoes for all those miles, used a syn oil since 1.5k miles and the wear was neglible after 21k miles. If some one had access to an ultrasonic cleaner that would be the cat's meow.

Polishing the chain on the old style "silent" chain worked very well for extending the life of the spring loaded tensioner.
The later model twin cams use a roller (think bicycle) chain.
