Greetings from South Carolina.
I just purchased a 1993 90th anniversary FXLR. I think it's called a "Dyna Low Rider". Correct me if I'm wrong. My previous ride was a '98 Sportster and before that, a '96 Moto Guzzi California. I'm not too familiar with the big twin designations.
Anyway, here's the question: The engine and tranny are, of course, painted black. Trouble is, some of that "black" is comming off in various places. Can I go to my local HD Dealear and get a spray can of that same paint to touch it up or are we talking I need to go somewhere and buy special automotive paint and use a paint gun like on cars?
Thanks
Mark in SC
If you bought an FXLR it is not a Dyna Low Rider. Your bike is a Low Rider Custom, built on the FXR frame. Its entirely different than a Dyna. HD did make the Dyna and the FXLR. I own a 93 FXLR that was originally black with gold pinstripping. Your bike is probably two tone silver with the special HD tag on the tank. If the bike has been well maintained you have a great bike. Does yours have a leather strip down the center of the tank, the speedo is under that handlebars, and oh the handle bars are the most comfortable HD ever made. Enjoy your bike, they are far and few between finding one anymore.
