I have the SE version, both do the same thing. Don't forget a few drops of blue locktite, and make sure it's at exactly the same point on both sides. I just liked the chrome version better.

I think the SE fork brace is discontinued, you may have trouble finding one.

I haven't put the locktite on mine yet, but curious why does it have to be at the exact same point on both sides. Doesn't the locktite get distributed in the threads when you tighten it down? Or did I misunderstand your comment?

Thanks

Default Fork Brace

I think he meant the brace has to be in the same place on both fork legs...use a level. You are correct about the locktite.

thanks. It was a bit difficult to figure out the exact placement of the brace, since the instructions didn't really state, beyond below the caps... On mine I don't think you could put it on crooked, because it was so tight that if you slowly tightened each side alternately they would level out, but I used the groove in the caps to line mine up with... Also, why I haven't put the locktite on it yet... wanted to make sure it was placed right.

thanks for the clarification.

Custom cycle engineering makes a really good looking unit for 39 or 49 mm forks, saw it installed in an American Iron mag article a few months ago.
