does anyone make a good replacement motor mount for the twin cams?
really would like a polyeurathane mount.
dont care about the vibration, just want something stronger.
tired of repl mounts once a year

 

ha ha ha well it looks like just you and me bud... i need new motor mounts as well... ill start looking for aftermarkey and you do the same... we can share our findings... Stranger told me that i want to look for an "A" i belive it was on the new mount... he said that is the newer version of the frnt motor mount... but I need one for 100% sure as well!

they make a poly kit for the touring models and in 4 wks or so they will have a full poly motor mount kit..stay tuned!

at this point, its what 200 bucks for a set of mounts from harley?
they last about 6k miles

I need mounts, too. I can't get a dealer to even look at the mounts for some reason. They all give me that "it's a harley, it's supposed to vibrate, bla bla bla" When I explain why it's bad, and physically show them what the bad mount looks like and show them what a good mount looks like, they get offended! Gonna fix it myself.

 

So are the motor mounts on a FLH the same as a Dyna?
and...
Aren't touring and softails sporting a balanced engine?
So..
wouldn't a stiffer poly bushing transmit more engine vibration of the Dyna engine, to the rider?

 

Can anyone tell me why their motor mounts are "going bad" and by that what exactly does "bad" mean here?

There has been no HD bulletin or recall.

I have 10K on my 07 SB with no issues.....what is the real deal with this?

The thread and responses are like this is normal or something and needing to replace motor mounts after or every 6K miles just doesn't seem right....

My Dyna has vibrated since day one. It is no different now than it was new, if anything less vibes now.

This is a revelation type thread yet it reads like a normal thing...and it shouldn't be.

There have been so many posts on this site about vibrations on Dynas; how much is too much vibes? should my bike vibrate like this? when I downshift, I get this vibe...etc. etc. etc. and then there was the longest post in the world from a guy who ordered and replaced his mounts and wrote a doctoral thesis on it.

Whatever happened to enjoying the ride the Dyna gives you? It for sure ain't no Gold Wing!! If the vibes bother you, go get a softail or any model with the 96B motor (it's counterbalanced so you feel nothing.

Love to hear from more Dyna owners on "how often" or IF you have replaced your motor mounts and why....
