Well this evening I was reminded of why I bought my Harley. Today it got up to about 80 degrees here in south Mississippi. This morning I jacked up my bike, adjusted the steering head bearing and got rid of the clunk in the front end. It sprinkled for few minutes and I put the bike up.
This evening I removed the windshield and sissy bar. I have not rode without the windshield since I got it about six months or so ago. I took off for a nice warm ride in a T-shirt for a change instead of all bundled up.
I rode around some familiar roads and then noticed a road I had never been down before. I live in a rural area and this road turned out to be a great ride through the country...farm land, old homes, lots of twisties. I rode about 30-35 mph for awhile just really enjoying poking along taking everything in. It finally wound around to hwy 98 after about an hour or so. I hit hwy 98, and cruised about 70 on to the house. It was the most fun I've had on my bike in quite awhile. I really didn't want to stop but I needed to go back home.
I got in a nice ride today too. Went to Seminole, Texas turned around and came back. Not a very scenic road, no turns, no hills, no trees, no nothing, just flat straight road. It was fun anyway.
I took this new sig photo on the way back. Another rider in his pickup stopped to see if I had trouble. He was on his way to Eunice, NM to pick up his broke down bike and take it to the Odessa, Texas dealer. I said no, just taking a photo. We chatted a bit then he drove on. Great that he saw me stopped and pulled over to make sure all was OK.
