Anyone running without a front fender and if so do you get many rocks thrown at you or rain I have a 2003 lowrider and just put a wide glide frontend on it Thanks
My buddy runs without a front fender. A few weeks ago we rode while snow was melting and the road still had some salt on it. He looked like he was covered in cement afterwords. Gave me a good reason to keep mine on.
I shortened mine (because af damage from a crash) and I get spray from water all over my face. It shoots straight up. I have a new fender sitting in the garage and will put that on next winter when I get the tins all painted.
*1 On what the others are saying, I left on a trip without one since I like the look, it was miserable every time I hit even a small puddle I took it right in the face... That got old FAST.
I ended up putting one on for the ride home. This was my emergency fender....lol
I have been riding with no front fender for awhile, I like it. If you run through water though, it will spray up..I avoid water. If it rains, your getting wet regardless of having a fender.
Does the fender stabilize the front end? I took mine off for a test ride last season...after reinstallation the bike doesn't seem as stable at 65 mph...I don't know if I threw something out of alighnment?
