Default fork disassembly

ok need help i got my new forks and triple tree in today and need to know how to take the dust boot off the top of the fork slider on my street bob it is crome(metal) does it unscrew or snap.

They snap off. You'll see an indent on the fork tube. HD takes a small screw driver and pops it off. Yes, you'll have a small dent so either replace them, or be careful not to dent them.

Use a splinter of wood, half a clothes pin works real well. Then tap it with a light hammer.
