Im doing some work on a 2000 Dyna and plan on putting on an aftermarket gas tank thus removing the speedo. Has anyone on here experienced any problems just unpluging the speedo harness and not using it? And any ideas of relocating the ignition switch to the motor/horn mount?

I have been running around with mine un-plugged with no issues. Haven't gone real far but it doesn't seem to miss it.

 

you gettin rid of tank & speedo??

 

i dont see it being a problem.i would cap it just to keep moisture out of it

Thats pretty hardcore, MD doesn't require one for your inspection?

 

Im sure they do but you only have inspection when you make a sale to a different party and tranfer the title.

i dont have a speedo on my chopper. It had but i aced it when i redid the bike.
