I need some help. Have an 06 FXDI and just acquired some 12.5 Wild One ape's(rainy day shopping). What would be the best length to go on the cables. I see that Barrnetts has them up to a +6",(throttle, idle,clutch) Also, for the wiring extension, I have seen them up to a +8". I'm still looking for the correct front brake lines. Being I have more time than money, I am going to do this, the grips and the V&H shortshot staggered myself. I'm a little nervous but I guess there is only one way to learn. ANY help, guidence or part numbers would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

 

I just put some 16 inchers on my 00' WG, I went 10 over on the throttle/idle and 6 over on the brake, 10 over on the clutch and have room to grow if I want taller risers....The wiring, I cut and spliced new wiring and all works great. Six over will work for you, giving you alittle to grow as well, 2/3 inch risers.......

 

+6 will probably be the best way to go. That is what I used when I went to 14s on my Bob.

Are you going to do the wiring internal on the bars?

I'm installing 18" gimp hangers on my FXDBI. I'm trying to figure out what length cables i'm going to need. I was thinking 6 over, but some of y'all are putting those on apes between 12.5 & 16". The gimps are a bit narrower than stock & probably a good inch or two narrower than wider taller apes. In measuring them it would appear that 6+ would work fine, any ideas or am I missing something?
