I recently put Rush pipes w/ 1-3/4" baffles and am looking to upgrade the air filter to a stage I. Is there anything else I have to do to the EFI? I've been told I would not have to worry about it and that I would have to install a EFI tuner. Which is correct?
i had the same setup and had to install a sert to get it to run correctly also the added benefit of the tuner is the heat. it makes the bike run much cooler a big benefit cause i sit in traffic alot!!!

you dont need to do anything to the ECM.....if you're worried about it though just get the dealier to flash it with the stage 1 download; it'll run you about $175 - raises the rev limiter....not sure what else. Thats the exact set up I have (Ruch with the 1.75s, SE Stage 1 A/C and the stage 1 download; bike runs great; no problems).
The stage.1 flash made my 08 dyna vibrate like a mother.....I found this out because I just installed the TTS and made some tuning runs.... much smoother now.

I bought the bike with Rush 2" ,SE stage 1 air and Powercommander from the start and the first 1000mile I run the bike with a "download" map. When i did the 1000mile service they run the bike in the dyno and man, what a difference in power and handling !!!!!!!!!
The dealer told me that you need to get the bike on the dyno to get right air/fuel ratio for your bike. There is no maps who will "fit" perfect general, every bike has a differernt tuning.
with the pipes already on , if you rather not spend the coin you don't need anything else.If you add the high flow A/C to the mix you def. have to richen your air/fuel ratio. Doing this will cost you about 500 t 600$,and you will not realize any true performance gain maybe 1 or 2 HP. I bet it sounds and runs great as is.that's all you really need.
Mine ran fine with A/C and rush 1.75's +Xied's--> the cheap and dirty fix! And I'am quoting steve mullen there owner of nightrider and inventor of the Xied's. He told me that on the phone! But I found it had lost some low end torque ,and had some decel popping so I got the stage 1 download.it's fine now , but the 225$ for the download is gone forever.Steve told me about the company which designs the software for HD,and it's available for purchase, it's around 500$, but you can use it as many times as you want, and on as many bikes as you want, which is good so you can always do further upgrades and just re-tune! You will need the use of a laptop computer.
I guess the in-between cost is the tuner which alot of people use, and even though you would think the HD sert would be great, you can only use it on 1 bike. silly considering it's cost.

The TTS is the same way, but I view it the same as any other mod I'm doing to the bike. I bought it for that bike, and if I ever decide to sell it or trade it in, it goes with the bike. I mean, if you installed a 103" big bore kit on your bike, would you pull it off so you can use it on another bike?
But I'll never have to buy another tuner no matter what I do to the bike.
