09 FXDC Seat Question
I like the stock ribbed seat for comfort, and would like to use it for the rare 2-up occasion. But would also like to have a solo. Thinking about the smaller of the Mustang solos (13.5"). My *** is on the normal side (yeah, that's a stretch, I know...but I'm about 6' and 180 lbs), and am concerned the 16.5" version will look like a mattress balanced on a wine-bottle. Thoughts?
Anyway, here's my question. With the stock seat removed, there's a couple of black hole plugs and four big ol' foam pads glued to the fender. What is the best way to clean up the fender and still be able to use the stock seat occasionally without scratching up the fender?
Thanks!

I just ordered the same seat and the thin passenger pad. Can't wait to install. Remove the foam pads and put them on the underside of the seat (may have to buy new pads or rig something up if they don't come off clean). That way your fender will be protected when you put the stock seat on.
Use "Goo Gone" to clean up the residue on the fender. You can get Goo Gone at Walgreen's or Home Depot. Mustang makes a nice fender-bib for use with solo seats. Look at Mustangseats.com. You can buff out the fender using Mequiar's products or Harley makes a good product called Harley-Davidson Swirl & Scratch Remover that works pretty good too - http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
