Default oil temp. gauge

I was wondering about oil temp. gauges and if any one has put one on?
Living in Hawaii it's pretty warm most of the time and I worry about over doing it. I have an External oil cooler but still worry. Would like an electrical gauge but don't have expierence with them...

Thanks every one for being so nice!

They're not in production anymore because the newer models don't have an external oil line to tap into. You're OK though because you have an oil cooler line which will work.

I know all this because I got a 1.5" micro oil temperature gauge on a clearance rack, only to find out it wouldn't work till I get an oil cooler - which is my next purchase. The part # for this gauge is 74513-04. You'll also need an accessory gauge bracket #67483-04, and a spherical can kit, part# 67939-04.

Obviously you will need to do some research (ebay, etc.) to find it all. Good luck!

Harley just came out with a Oil Temp dipstick for 06 and newer Dynas in Black
and chrome versions, for about $140 i think. Easy way out.

Good, but you can only see what your temperature is after the ride (hopefully).

Hallgood,

Sorry to keep posting so many times, but... you are running synthetic oil right? That is probably the single most important thing you can do to protect against heat damage.
