Just bought a new headlight and am going to relocate the stock indicator lights to a bracket I purchased. How do you remove the indicator lights from the stock eyebrow on a lowrider? I took a peek at it yesterday and I'm not sure how to do this and am sort of afraid I'll break it.
DOGKILLR,
I'm not sure how to go about it, But get your self a HD service manual for your model.
It's a good place to start.
Has you start doing more jobs on your ride, you will find you can't do without it.
look under the eyebrow. there is a clip that has 4 spots where you need to pop it out to set it free. once you do this it will just fall into your hands... I know it's hard to see in there but once you understand what needs done it's really easy.
what kind of headlight? new bracket from headwinds?
The headlight is from EP and is called the Viper. The bracket is from headwinds and is called "instrument panel for fxl, fxd, mounts where your original eyebrow does on the trees and has a slot for the indicator lights.
Did find out how to get it out but the way it is made I'll have to pull the wires out of the quick connector to get the harness assembly free from the eyebrow. Is there a trick to this?
LABEL THEM!!! LOL I know they are color coded, but some of the black ones are used twice. I labeled them to be safe.
Get a pointy tool and feel around in there. You have to push a tab either in or out, can't remember which way and pull at the same time. It won't take a lot of force pushing on the tab or pulling so don't do too much of either.
Once you get the first one, inspect it and you'll get the feel. You'll become very good at it by the last one you do!

once you pull the tabs the whole unit comes out. I didn't need to remove any wires on mine.
On mine the plastic bracket holding the indicator lights pop up to the top of the eyebrow leaving the quick connector on the other end of the wiring harness. Neither the plastic housing or the quick connect will fit through the hole that the plastic bracket pops into so the wiring harness can't be removed without disconnecting the wires from the quick connect.
???... there are 2 pieces, the harness with plug and a bezel, remove bezel with the (4) snaps disconnecting the harness/plug from bezel and the harness/plug should fall away, the bezel is what clips into brow and attaches to harness plug
