I've thought about putting stirrups (heel rest) on my FXD which has forward controls for added comfort and would like some opinions before doing so.
If you've done this whats your thoughts?
Total waste of money?
Love 'em, don't know why I waited so long?
etc.
I found a cheap set from JC Whitney and they worked out really well. I didn't have to change the brake pedal ( although I bent it out ) or the shift lever. I looked for pictures, and I know I have some , so if I find them I'll send them your way.
They work incredibly well. Kuryakyn makes excellent ones. I've had them for a year. Keep them adjusted on the same plane as your foot pegs and you'll be fine.

+1
I've got the Dually Pegs w/heel rests a couple years ago and they work great.
As far as scraping, the back of my boot has hit pavement before the pegs have a few times.
I bought some but took 'em off after about a week. The mounts pushed the pegs just a bit too wide (about an inch further out on each side) for my liking and then the tolerances between the stirrup mounts and the peg mounts resulted in my pegs being slightly pointed down. I could tell that they would be comfortable otherwise but I wasn't willing to live with the tradeoffs.
