Dyna shocks squeeking
How much "squeeking" should your Dyna shocks make. They were silent the first 1000 miles, but now when I climb on they will make a little sqeeking noise. Is that normal? She's going in for the 1000 mile service next week.

mine squeaked...or made some kind of noise that I may not describe as a squeak...so I asked the dealer about it. They told me it was normal, and that if it bothered me, to use some teflon spray. They had some there. Every couple of weeks I shoot some in the shocks, and the squeak is gone.

My HD lowering shocks squeak, too. I'll have to try that teflon spray. I'm due for the 1000 mile service, too.

I've got over 10,000 miles on my 2001 Superglide and the shocks don't squeek.
Show/tell the dealer about the noise when you take it in. They should take care of it.

non-American steel with incorrect tensil strenght used in shock springs will sound like a squeaking bed spring. H.D. needs to be researching this and recall if needed. Meanwhile use of a silicone spray on the spring and in the cap will reduce noise.
