Default SE 180 Differences

ANy one know what the difference is between the SE 180's part numbers 43197-04A and 43197-04. I know the 43197-04A is the one that comes in the wide tire kit and the 43197-04 is a discontinued tire but not sure on whats different.

The dealer I bought my bike from has some of the 43197-04 they will sell with tax for $118.

Anyone running the 43197-04 on theirs?

I just went through this myself. The 04A is just the tire and does NOT include the kit. I posted on here with the same question about the difference between the 04 and 04A but never got an answer. I searched high and low and could not find the 04, places like Latus and Chicago HD advertised the 04 but said it was discontinued when I tried to buy it. So I would up paying $181 for the 04A from Latus. So if you can get the 04 at $118, I'd jump at it and consider buying two of them.

Ya I have searched everywhere I can think of and cant find the difference.

I guess my concern is was the change what makes it work with the 4.5 inch rim or was it just something small.

Anyone running the older one on thiers?

The "A", in most cases indicates that the manufacturer has changed or the porduct has been through a design change. Usually they sell the old part as a discounted part but cannot order under that part number any more.

Bberck: I got the 04 from HD dealer selling on ebay, paid $112 for it, Is a SE GT 502 with same specs as 04A, I would have bought more than one if it wasn't last one listed. Go for it.

Bberck: what kind of exhaust are you running?

Check the date on the tire. I would not put an old tire on, NOS or not. Just my 2 cents.

What is considered an old tire? Do they have expiration date?

No, but they have a manufactured date on the tire and I would not put one on that has been sitting around for a long time. But, that is just me.
