Default Blowed Shocks

Anyone had their Progressive 412 shocks blow before. Went riding this afternoon & after coming back outside, I noticed what looked like oil on the right of my fender, wheel, brake caliper, tire...etc..etc... It was wet up inside of shock & looked like the same oil. Guess you get what you pay for. Any suggestions on what to do next? I do have the heavy duty series & I was riding solo at the time & I only weigh like 190lbs.

How old are the shocks? Might be worth contacting Progressive, or whomever you bought them from.

I'm running HD 412's also, but about 20lbs heavier than you.

Yup happened to me.... I was lucky and they were under a year old and progressive sent me a new set!!

I hope it don't happen to these.... Shame you pay all that cash for a set of shocks and they don't even hold up for a year!!!

I bought some off E-Bay about a Year ago, put them on and it was the worst ride ever.. Took then right off put back in the box, and onto a shelf. After about a years worth of reading how great this shock is.. I revisited the new box, it was soaked in oil.. I sent back to Progressive asking them if they were indeed bad or if their just not the shock for me.(180lbs.)
A few days later I received a call telling me that they indeed were Bad and if I would send them a copy of the new perchace invoice they would glady replace them.. Well of course an ebay invoice is not a 'New Purchace Invoice". So their solution was $90.00 and they would replace..
There on there way back now. Hope the ride is as good as everyone says or back to E-Bay I go..
All in All a pretty good company to deal with..
