Default Fork Reflector Removal?

What is the best way to take the reflectors off my forks without messing up the black paint?

Most guys use a hair dryer to get the reflector a little warm and it will pull right off. You can also get pcs of fishing line behind it to get it started and help pull

Then use some go gone to clean off any sticky stuff

I used a heat gun and then pulled it off. Then I used goo gone to clean up the residual glue.

Use a blow dryer to heat it up. Pull it off, you'll have to give it a good pull. Use an old ID card to get leverage under it. You are going to have residual once you pull it off. Heat that up some more and just rub it off in one direction and when you have all the thick stuff off some have used goo gone, or WD40. Make sure you wash your bike afterwards. I just rubbed everything off with my thumb and waxed it up!!

Hydrochloric acid. It'll eat anything off.

Before getting out the fishing line, dental floss, goo gone, etc. Try prying the reflector off with your hands. I was able to get both of mine off very cleanly using only my hands. I guess the bike was new enough the adhesive hadn't cured to the paint very well. I only used soap and water to clean up. Maybe you'll get lucky and not have to deal with the goo left behind. Wait, that didn't sound right at all!

I used a scheringe to keep squirting goo gone behind the reflector. After it was soaked enough I used a heat gun to warm it up then pulled it away and then cleaned up the paint. There is a reflection in this picture. The paint isn't damaged.
Good luck,
Tim

1: Use Blow dryer to heat area under reflector for a few minutes.

2: Give a little pull with your hands, shoud pop or peel right off.

3:Clean up by rolling the residule small clumps of adhesive with your little old fingers.

4: Use a nice cleaning product to get it ..Ohh so shiny..ei: Harley gloss.

OR...leave em on so you get noticed by the little blue haired old ladies and the soccer mom's on cell phones...

...nah they wouldnt see you anyway =) LMAO

Cheers,

Tom
