Default Shock absorber help

Need a little help here I have the 09 FatBob I am 6'4" 280# my wife is 5'10" and about 155. I have these shocks set on 5 but we bottom out a lot. Are there aftermarket shocks available that are better than these stock garbage ones? And lets not here lose a few pounds! Ain't gonna happen Appreciate any info you might have thanks

Progressive Heavy Duty.

Nice upgrade from stock and the HD can be ratcheted up very firm.

I have mine on setting 2 and it is quite firm. I'm not the smallest guy either.

I put 412s with full covers on a while ago and no complaints. (except the occasional squeak from one of them until I oil it)

Default Progressive Shocks

I think any after market shock would be an improvement over stock.
I like Progressive 412 Heavy Duty Shocks.

Also riding with the Progressive full cover 412 heavy duty.... I'm 220lbs, and am riding on setting one, fairly comfortable. It does have a squeak that I need to get rid of.... there are also complaints from some of the shocks leaking. 5000 miles and I have no complaints.

I'll push the Arnotts. Pricey, but worth every penny for how adjustable they are on the fly depending on if the load is just you or 2up and loaded.

That's what I'm running with no issues. Rides like a Caddy.

Default thanks

Thanks for the input guys One last question. I see different length shocks for sale for my Fat Bob Does the length matter? Does longer mean more dampening travel? Will they all fit? Thanks a million

Since you are pushing 450 plus any gear, I would suggest getting shocks that are sprung for your weight and I would consider getting shocks that are 320mm +,
I don't think you will be happy with off the shelf shocks. A lot of shocks are custom set up, Works,YSS,Ohlins,Penske, they will start in the 450.00 pr range and go up to well over 1K, depends how much adjustability you want e.g.rebound,compression,length. Hope this helps.
