Speedo Relocation
I have an 04 super glide and want to do something to fix the location of the speedometer. It sits way up high on top of the headlight and it looks out of place. Im open to everyones opinion on different ways to go about fixing this (hopefullly someone has done this on their own bike).
If want it off the bars you will need to do a tank swap or mount it down on the rocker cover. If not there are some different mounts out there depending on what kind of bars you want to run.
Accutronix and Carilini (SP) have mounts for T-Bars. Also a guy on here that designed a mount that looks real good.
I went with the Set-up off the 07 SE Superglide and like it alot. Its a expensive option but was worth it in the end.

I switched tanks out. If I had it to do over I would go the outlaw with a fairing and leave it on the bars. bberck yours looks good but the drag bars with only 6 or 8 inch rise killed my shoulders. I'm really liking the apes fells alot better.
Ya I wish these were a little taller but they arent bad. They actually have about 9 inchs of rise but 10 would be about perfect for me. I plan to send my seat off for a little rework this winter so going to see if they can drop me down a bit to help.
I like bberck's solution too ... looks good.
I needed a different setup that wouldn't kill my shoulders, too. I went with the Wide Glide/Street Bob mini-ape hangers.
My tank conversion cost me a little over $400. See attached for details.

I switched out tanks too ... I would do it again in a heartbeat. I got an '05 and the two things I didn't really care for were the 'brow' and the speedo ...

Negative, Ghostrider ....
I paid $225 for the tank (take off from an '04 Low Rider) and $10 for a gas cap and $25 for a fuel guage (also take-offs). [Retail for the same tank was $996, Zanotti price $796.80]
I paid $220 including shipping for the rest of the stuff from Zanotti, but did not need the things in the far right column of figures, so exchanged them (with some additional cash) for some other goodies.
The parts that I actually needed and bought new were the $138.15 shown in the second 'Zanotti' column. Thus, cost was $225 (tank) + $35 (fuel guage/gas cap) + $138.15 (rest of the stuff) + shipping = ~$400

A tip for pre-06 model owners who might like to follow my lead. Since I reused my original speedo (from the riser mount) I had to figure out a 'work around' in order to reuse my 'idiot' lights (dash indicator lights) ... at first, I just used some wire ties to try to keep them in place; but later figured out a hard plastic 'keeper' for the dash lights. I took the lid from a coffee can and cut it into something of an "H" shape with the upper ears screwed down between the dash screws and the speed nuts ... the lower ears were cut to fit snugly around the rectangular indicator light casing assembly. The spacing of my original dash lights is slightly wider than the Street Bob dash, but unless I point it out to people, no one notices. Also, the lenses are clear and my lights were colored, so I used colored Shapie markers to color the underside of the lenses the corresponding colors.
