Advice on installing ape hangers on my 05 FXD?
I like the size apes that are on the wide glide.
How much is it going to cost me for cables and such?

Mike, that sounds like the fix I want with the 10" jobs. WHere did you buy yours?

Do a search on my login (Hell Razor), I have a complete parts list there. I'm almost done with mine (2005 FXD). Parts are about $150, labor is going for about $200-$300 at the stealer. You will need brake, and clutch cables from the Wide Glide. And narrow ape hangers.

Been thinking about doing the same on my FXDCI. Dealer quoted me 4 to 450 with the cables (stock cables wideglide) on the outside and 7 to 750 with the cables routed on the inside of the bars (braided cables for the wideglide).

Just bought a set of stock wide glide bars with cables on ebay for 110.00. Been looking for about a month. Talked to the dealer and he said that stock wide glide bars should fit with the cables that are already installed on my 03 FXDL. I hope so. It doesn't seem like that hard of a project because I'm too cheap to have the dealer do it. Just another chance to learn more about the bike!
