Without turning the Bob into a bagger with detachable hardware. What is the best way to go on a 5 hour trip a few times a year? I see some sites sell these throwovers, but how do you secure them without them blowing off the back? What throwover bags work best?
You talking about an overnighter? Or an out and back trip?
Throwover bags are typically held on by the seat pan. The yoke of the bags goes under yer seat. You might have a problem doing that with just a solo seat. Kuryahkyn sells some bags that can be strapped down to the turn signal stalks. That might be a better option if your running with a solo seat.
If you have a detachable sissy bar they make bag theslide over it a sit on the luggage rack or passenger seat. I have a T-Bag. I just open myself for a joke on that one! any way it works really well holds a lot of stuff and it only goes on when i'm going somwhere for a couple three days. I'll be t-baggin on my way to americade in a couple weeks.
i have a set of throwovers from ameritex. i got them cheep from jc whitney. they tie to the signal stalks. i like them a lot. really check out jc whitney.
I've got a small Motherwell rack on the rear fender and a set of old sportster bags. They wedge perfectly between the shocks and turn signals.Strap a Kuryakyn Grantour bag on top of that and you got enough room to tour for a month if you want.
My bags aren't slanted but they would look better if they were.
