I've also decided to buy me a windshield as well. Ive done a couple 300 miles trips and somehow I feel it would be alot more enjoyable without all that wind beating me up. Since I'm not crazy about the looks of any of the windshields offered,..... I decided to at least get the Touring Model for the Dyna since it will afford the largest amount of coverage.
i have the quick detach standard height. i love it. its goofy looking but i only use it on long highway trips. it really helps keep the rocks and stuff out of your face when you pass the semi's.
Not as bad as I thought. I still like the bike better without it..but I definitely see your point. When you remove it, is there any docking hardware left on there, or is it completely clean? That might just be what I'm looking for.
tb2377,
Those quick release windshields are real nice. I'm interested in purchasing one. I saw a guy at the dealer trying one on his softail standard and he had a problem with the headlight centering correctly in the cut-out portion of the shield. Can this be adjusted? Also, can the rake be adjusted on this shield? Thanks...
I have a h-d detach for long rides but use a Windvest up to 400-500 miles.Pics here I hope.Takes the wind off your chest so you don't feel like a sail.
you can mount it it different position up an down. ther is about 2-3 inches that you can change it vertically. if you look at the side view of the pic you can see the clamps that grap the fork in between the triple trees. it can rest at the bottom of the top tree or at the top of the bottom tree. don't know about the angle though. havent tried
