Almost went with a springer , however have loved Indians since I was a kid so went this route.

 

Can be done for roughly $2500 said and done if one does all the work installing etc. Can find the springer front end only for around $1900.Which is around the price of a springer front end from HD, Paugcho and some other quality springer front ends.
All of which one needs to address brake caliper mounting and or caliper replacement, rotor size may be issue deppending. Fender to mount if having a fender. Brake hose and routing. Then of course axle fitment which can be as simple as bearing and inner spacer swap to 3/4" since the majority seem to use 3/4" axles for springers.

 

I used a stock HD springer from an FXSTS. Very few issues with the swap. Just some minor fabrication (cut and grind stuff). Well worth the work!
