Default True Track install

I installed my True Track on my FXDC today and have a couple of pointers that may help future installs.

FRONT
1. I put it up on a motorcycle jack, just a cheapy frop Pep Boys.
2. I put blocks under the rear tire to keep it from flipping off the motorcycle jack when I put the jack under the motor.
3. I put another jack under the front of the motor with a block of wood cut at a 45 degree angle so as not to crimp the clutch cable.
4. All the bolts on the front came out and back in with the new billet with no trouble.

REAR
1. I took the exhaust pipes off, I am changing them out anyway but it really makes the install a lot easier even if you are not.
2. I took the bracket that comes off the motor and goes over the rear brake reservoir to support the exhaust off. Opened that area right up.
3. I followed the instructions that come with the True Track to install the rear except: I took apart the rear True Track. I installed each billet piece on its own then put the connecter on when both pieces were in.

Taking apart the rear True Track really made it easy to manuver the billet pieces in the tight space.

The instructions for removing just one bolt at a time are critical for alignment. When you put the NEW lower rear bolt in put it in half way the billet piece is slotted to slide over that bolt.

The hardest part was that damn wiring that runs through there on the back but wiring is always a pain.

Hope some of this is helpful.

Regards,
Matt

Thanks for the tips. I hope to get that done over the winter. When you get a chance to take it through the corners I hope you can report on that as well. - George
